I didn't get a link to verify my email address
If you register with Google or Apple, your email address is automatically verified.
If you register with an email address and password, we will send you an email after registration with a link that you have to click to verify your email address. Sometimes this email ends up in your spam folder.
If you check your email with an email client, please check not only the spam folder of your email client, but also the spam folder in the web interface of your email provider. Not all spam emails are always forwarded to your email program by your email provider.
Sometimes it happens that you mistype your email address when registering. For example, you accidentally type ...@email.con instead of ...@email.com. The two keys are right next to each other on the keyboard and the difference may be hard to see on the small screen. As a consequence, the confirmation email would be sent to the wrong email address and it may seem to you as if it never arrived.

How can I connect my tracker?
In order to earn points for your tracked sports activities, simply connect a fitness tracker or sports app you use, with HelloSports.
First select the tracker you want to connect to HelloSports, e.g. Garmin, under the "Profile" tab of the HelloSports app. Log into your corresponding account and allow the tracker to share your sports activities with HelloSports. You only need to give permission to share your activities, we do not need or ask for any other information, e.g. about yourself or health aspects.
Once connected, all your sports activities will be automatically synchronised with HelloSports and you will earn points for it. Please note that your activities in the tracker must not be marked as "private" because such activities will not be synchronised.
My tracker or sports app is not supported
We are regularly working on supporting more trackers and sports apps so that you can connect them directly to HelloSports. If your tracker or sports app is not yet included, the best way is to connect it to Strava and then connect Strava to HelloSports.

My activities tracked with Fitbit all have distance as 0 km, why?
If you track your activities with Fitbit automatically, it can easily happen that Fitbit does not track distance and speed, but only time. Please check in Fitbit if your activities also show distance as 0 km there. If so, please contact Fitbit support. If this is not the case, please refer to the question "My sport activity appears but I don't get any points for it, why?"
I didn't earn any points for my activities from the last 365 days tracked on Polar
You have connected your Polar account but you don't get any points for your activities tracked with Polar in the last 365 days? Unfortunately, Polar does not make historical activities accessible to other apps before the Polar account is connected to the other app.
However, you will receive redeemable points for all activities you track with Polar from the moment you register, just like with all other trackers.
As a workaround, if you have previously synced Polar with Strava before, you can also connect Strava to HelloSports so that we can access your historical activities tracked by Polar, that are already available on Strava.
How are the points rewarded?
With HelloSports, you earn points for sports activities that you record with other fitness trackers and sports apps once you have connected the latter to HelloSports.
Users earn two types of points: Level Points and Redeemable Points.
Your HelloSports level is determined by your Level Points. Level points are "lifetime points", i.e. they never decrease but are increased with every point you earn for as long as you have your HelloSports account.
You earn Redeemable points for every tracked sports activity, by completing challenges, by reaching a higher level, and by receiving it as a gift from friends. You can use these points to acquire vouchers in the app. The points are deducted when you exchange them for a voucher or send it as a gift to someone.
When you connect a tracker or sports app to HelloSports for the first time, we synchronize your sports activities from the previous 365 days. From then on, we will automatically synchronize your new sports activities on a regular basis or whenever you open the app.
For activities that you have tracked in the last 365 days before registering with HelloSports, you will be rewarded with only Level points. They are used to assign you a level corresponding to your performance right from the beginning.
For activities that you have tracked after registering with HelloSports, you will receive both Level points and Redeemable points. The same applies if you successfully complete challenges, reach a higher level or similar.
My sports activity does not appear in HelloSports, why?

I don't get points for my Zwift bike races, why?
If you upload your Zwift races to Garmin and from there to HelloSports then you will not receive points. The reason for this is that Garmin marks all activities that were not tracked with Garmin itself as "manual" and consequently, not award points for such activities. Too bad? We think so too! Tell Garmin to change this, maybe it will happen one day!

Basically, we support all sports - you get points for the calories you burn!

How exactly points are awarded for each sport activity remains our secret.
In our four main sports, the biggest factor is distance: the further you run, cycle, swim or hike, the more points you get. However, to reward those who are particularly fast or quick, speed and/or pace also plays a role.
For all other sports activities, we give you points based on the number of calories burned. This also applies to activities in our main sports for which we have not received any distance data from your tracker!
In general, we try to ensure that the same points are awarded for comparable performances in different sports.
If you use HelloSports a little, you will soon get a feeling for how many points are awarded for which performances. Just track your sports activities, sync them with the app and check it out yourself!
How exactly do the levels work?
Your level at HelloSports depends on the number of Level points you have. The more Level points you have, the higher your level - logical, isn't it?
Every time you reach a higher level, we credit you with redeemable points. The higher the level, the more points you get. But each new level is also harder to reach than the previous one.
You can always see your next higher level and the points you need to reach it on the home page and on the profile page of the app.

How does it work with the challenges?
On HelloSports you will constantly find challenges in which you can measure your athletic performance and increase your points account. There is something for every sport and every level.
Challenges always have an end date by which you must have successfully completed them. This can be the end of the month or a certain number of days you have after accepting the challenge to reach the goal. You have to complete the challenge by its end time to get the points for it. If you fail to do so, your progress so far in the challenge will be forfeited and the challenge will expire.
If a challenge expires before you have synchronised an activity to HelloSports that would still count towards the challenge, this is not a problem. We will recognise this the next time you connect to the tracker, count the activity towards the challenge and, if necessary, credit you with the points for passing the challenge.
My activity did not count towards a challenge, why?
You are participating in a Challenge and have an activity that you think should count towards the Challenge but doesn't? In order for an activity to count towards a Challenge, the following conditions must be met:

How does it work with the vouchers?
On HelloSports you can find vouchers from different shops - and we are constantly adding more. You can find a list of our current partner shops as well as the shops we will be working with soon on our homepage.
Our goal is to offer vouchers for a wide selection of high-quality sports products, brands and shops with which you can reward yourself for your sporting achievements. We prefer to partner with specialised sports shops that have a good reputation and a wide, high-quality range of products in their area of expertise.
It is also important to us that our partners offer attractive vouchers with few conditions on HelloSports. So we try to keep the vouchers on HelloSports as free of conditions as possible. We also succeed in this most of the time. For example, the discounts are generally granted on the shop price of the products and not on the list price, and they apply to large parts of the shop's assortment. Nevertheless, some vouchers are subject to certain conditions. You will find these on the page that shows you the details of the voucher.
Once you have acquired a voucher with points, you can redeem it at any time in the corresponding shop as long as it is still valid. The voucher is not tied to your HelloSports account or email address - you can also pass it on to someone else. However, each voucher can only be redeemed once.
I can't redeem my voucher in the shop, what now?
If you cannot redeem your voucher in the shop, this is usually due to one of the following reasons:

How exactly does gifting work?
On HelloSports you can gift points to your friends and make them a little bit happier! Of course, you can receive poitns as a gift as well.
You can give points to people who are already registered with Hellosports as well as to people who are not yet registered with HelloSports. Simply enter the name or email address of the person you would like to give points to in the "Give a Gift" tab and we will show you the users who match your search criteria.
Either way, your gift of points will be waiting for the person on the Home page of the app and when they have accepted (or hopefully not declined!) you will see this on your Home page too.
What happens with my data?
The HelloSports concept is to reward sporting activity. To do this, you share your sports activity data with us. Of course, it is a legitimate question what we do with this data.
At the moment, we only use this data within HelloSports itself to get to know our users better and to understand their sports behaviour. By agreeing to our privacy policy when you create your account, you allow us to share the data in the future with the shops that offer vouchers on HelloSports. Our vision is that HelloSports users will be recognised and treated as VIPs by the participating partner shops in the future.
We do not share the data or utilize it in anyway beyond this, i.e. to share it outside HelloSports and the associated shops.
